Proper training is essential to becoming a compounding pharmacist. We recommend you search out a comprehensive training program from either Professional Compounding Centres of America (PCCA) at 1-800-668-9453 or LP3 Network at 1-844-408-9453. You should also contact your provincial College of Pharmacy to get a comprehensive guideline to opening a compounding pharmacy and for preparing compounded medications.
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) does require a prescription from a Canadian physician to be dispensed in Canada. Please contact the member pharmacy of ACPC closest to your location and they may be able to provide you the BHRT information that you require. You will notice that certain members of the ACPC have the letter “H” beside their pharmacy on our website. These pharmacies specialize in hormone therapy.
